Running Green 5K Contest

This year we are focusing on greening our 5K and we need the girls’ help!

There will be a competition between the teams to help brainstorm greening the race ideas and to help cultivate their own environmental consciousness.  Please help the girls brainstorm and submit their ideas for the Running Green Contest.

The Competition: What does a green race look like?
1) Please submit a short essay, as a team, describing what an environmentally friendly race looks like. Will there be recycling? Does each girl carry her own water bottle? How about paper and decorations? Please include ideas of how to “green” the race. The team that comes up with the best idea of how to “green” the race wins!

2) Along with the essay, we would like each girl to draw a picture of what a “green” race looks like. We need help visualizing it!

The submission date for the competition is April 22nd, Earth Day. Please send your team’s submission to the following address:
